Painting a new home or extension is different from repainting an existing one. New plasterboard, render, timber and metal have never been coated, so they need the right sealers and primers before the finish coats, and the painting has to fit into the build schedule alongside the other trades.
We can work with your builder or directly with you if you’re managing the build or extension yourself.
Painting usually happens after plastering and before or around the final fit-off, flooring and handover, depending on how your builder sequences the job. Tell us the build schedule and we’ll plan our visits around it. If other trades mark the walls after we’ve painted, we can come back for touch-ups, and we’ll explain in the quote how these are priced.
If you haven’t settled on colours yet, a free colour consultation is included with every quote. We’ll also talk through sheen levels, for example washable low-sheen finishes for living areas and hallways and semi-gloss for doors and trims.
For more on the work itself, see interior painting, exterior painting and, for offices and shops, commercial painting.
As early as you can, ideally once you have a rough date for plastering to be finished. We’ll confirm our availability in the quote.
We can colour-match the existing paint. If it has faded, the match may not be exact, so in some cases it is better to repaint the adjoining walls too. We’ll tell you at the quote.
We can quote and schedule through your builder or directly with you.
