Chatswood has two very different kinds of painting work. Around the town centre and the transport interchange, most of it is strata: apartments and units where lift bookings, permitted work hours and the building’s own rules shape the job as much as the paint does. A few streets out, the suburb turns into established brick and weatherboard houses on leafy blocks, where most of the work is preparation.

Before we start an apartment job, we confirm the building’s requirements: building manager or strata notice where required, lift and loading-dock bookings, permitted work hours and how common areas need to be protected. Inside the unit we cover floors, joinery and fixtures, keep the work area contained, and plan the order of rooms so you can keep living there if you need to.
If you’re painting before moving in, before a sale or at the end of a lease, tell us the deadline when you book and we’ll plan the schedule around it.
Many of Chatswood’s established houses have original timber windows, eaves, fascias and decorative trims. These need more preparation than walls: scraping and sanding loose paint, filling and priming bare timber, and checking for rot before it gets painted over. If we find timber that should be repaired or replaced rather than painted, we’ll tell you as soon as we find it, before we paint over it.
If your home was built before the 1970s, older paint layers may contain lead. We’ll talk with you about testing and safe preparation before any sanding starts.
Painting inside your own unit usually doesn’t need owners corporation approval, but most buildings have by-laws on work hours, lift use and noise, and some require notice to the building manager. Anything that is common property under your strata plan, which can include external walls, balcony structures and sometimes the front door, generally does need approval. Check your by-laws; we’re happy to coordinate with your building manager.
Yes. We work room by room, cover and protect furniture, and agree a daily finish time so the apartment is usable each evening.
